  • Description : The Nowa Nowa Trestle Bridge. This is the highest trestle bridge on the Victorian Railways system, now out of service, but retained as an historic landmark.

  • Description : The majestic trestle bridge at Nowa Nowa on the dismantled Orbost line. Contrast the view with NowaNowa-2 , taken in the same spot some twelve years earlier. Much vegetation has been removed to make way for a gas pipeline along the railway easement.

  • Description : When I last visited Orbost in Dec 1970 (on my honeymoon), it was bucketing with rain, and this area was under water, making the purpose of the viaduct quite obvious. The railway was running then, but now has gone down the gurgler with all that water.
