  • Description : On a special run to Seymour to commemorate Australia]s bicentenary year, R761 derailed while crossing into the loco depot for turning and servicing. While not seriously derailed, the location and timing could not have been worse, as the loco is fouling the standard gauge line (in the foreground), and regular services between Melbourne and Sydney were delayed for several hours while R761 was rerailed.

In this 1988 photo, all that remains of the wharf platform is the mound of dirt on the left hand side. The rails at the wharf site had all been lifted, and the goods shed had become a tourist centre.
